Before Christmas go we took a look at the most awkward snowboard company ever. Part of what made them so outstanding was their impressively awkward model photo shoot. We wondered if it was actually possible to photograph scantily clad models with snowboards and for it not to be awkward...

Over a year ago we put together an article looking at what was then a small trickle of professional snowboarders who had taken their kit off for publicity. At that time there were 7 ladies and 5 guys who had given it a try. One of the strange things we noticed around this year's Olympics was that in the space of a few months the total number of female athletes choosing to go down this route has more than doubled with another 8 taking the plunge. What does that mean for snowboarding?...

The standard way to tell if a movie is great or not is whether it's got it's own porn parody. Who can forget the cinematic greats like Shaving Ryan's Privates, The SoreSack Prevention, Forrest Hump, Casawanker, One Blew Over The Hookers Chest, or Shitty Shitty Gang Bang? Historically we've spent a lot of time turning porn into snowboarding content, this week we switch things round as we celebrate classic snowboard movies in the traditional way...

Each year the snowboard magazines (or treeware as they're know by the incredibly wanky word I heard for the first time today) churn out a special edition introducing at the newest snowboards and gear. The gear guides that are produced is usually a endless, and not all that exciting or useful array of pictures of snowboards for people to peruse. We felt that the format needed spicing up a little...

Fact: People absolutely love snowboarding gear guides.
It must be true. Last year our first gear guide became
easily our most read article, accounting for 13% of all the visits to the site.
Every day people continue to arrive in their hundreds just to enjoy that article and learn
more about last year’s snowboarding gear.
The only odd thing is that they don’t spend long reading the article and in under 2 minutes
they’re done.
We want to make sure we provide the quality content our readers demand so without further ado, for all you gear guide fans, here is
this year’s guide…

It might be nearing the end of season for most of us, but for Snowboarder Mag and Mountain High resort last weekend was peak season – it was the weekend of the annual Miss Mountain High Bikini Pageant.
Everyone wins; Mountain High get buckets of free press coverage, the winning girl gets a free season pass, tickets to some heavy metal gigs and a bikini and Snowboard Mag get a massive influx of new site visitors. Last year’s Miss Mountain High is currently the most viewed set-of photos on Snowboarder Mag’s website and already this year’s event is in at number 4. That’s pretty bonkers given the quantity of other photographs that appear on the site.
What really makes the photos though are shots of the dirty old men who flock to the event (and clearly to the Snowboarder Mag site). Here are the top three leery blokes from the Miss Mountain High competition...

Writing an article on the internet is a bit like writing a book on a typewriter that occasionally prints out a page of hardcore porn. While we research our weekly articles we unavoidably come across some pretty strange things on the edge of the snowboarding world and because we are committed internet journalists, when we spot a trend, no matter how weird or offensive it is, we feel it’s our job to share them with you. This week we look at a very strange snowboarding niche developed by some pretty disturbing minds – Erotic Snowboard Art. Warning - towards the end it’s definitely NSFW and very probably not much good for your soul either...

If there’s one thing that 50% of the population will remember about this year’s Olympic snowboarding, it will be Shaun White’s gold medal winning halfpipe run. For the other 50% the defining moment was when Hannah Teter and Clair ‘her surname sounds like a ceramic bum washing device’ Bidez, featured in the 2010 Sports Illustrated swimwear edition.
As a result the defining moments of the Oympics according to a large number of snowboard blogs and forums have been; Hannah Teter’s bum, Clair Bidez’s weird belly button, the impressive amount of Photoshoping involved and definitive proof that it is not possible to look sexy in rubber boots...

In the first of yet another potentially epic series Illicit Snowboarding lives up to its name as we have a letch at...

One thing that you can’t avoid finding when you are searching for snowboarding pictures is images of scantily clad ladies. To be honest you pretty much can’t avoid finding scantily clad ladies when you search for anything on the internet and I for one have no problem with scantily clad ladies interrupting whenever they want to.

A virtual Internet
But I’ve noticed just how awkward it seems to be for these girls to strike anything approaching an erotic or sexy pose whilst being scantily clad in a snowboarding environment. It’s clearly one of the toughest environments for achieving erotic. In the following article we will use our very arbitrary judgment to rate the efforts and let’s see if we can find anyone who manages the impossible...

While thinking about how to increase the readership we realised that we just had to embrace porn because it is after all the foundation of the Internet, and in our hour of need the people of Smugglers Notch have come to our aid.
Smugglers Notch sounds like smutty innuendo but rather disappointingly it is a small town in Vermont who are decidedly anti-porn. At least they are in snowboarding way.
The big news in snowboarding at the moment is that Burton has caused some controversy by plastering scantily clad ladies across one of their snowboard ranges this season. This has riled up the US conservative community, who having lost the presidential elections, are spoiling for something to complain about. It has annoyed literally some Americans to the stage where they are leaving their trailers, actually writing things and have been seen walking, in street protests.
